Sugar mills: replace before the crushing season
A cane carrier or bagasse belt that breaks in the middle of the crushing season stops the whole mill. Most mills in western Maharashtra start crushing around October and November, so the belt order should be placed well before that. Bagasse is light but fibrous and sticky, and molasses spillage softens ordinary rubber, so check the old belt for swelling. Where swelling is seen, ask us about an oil resistant cover.
